HI-MOD Fail safe Insulators utilise the same features that have made the Hi-Mod compression fittings so popular, this insulator has an internal ball-socket in the main body that threads onto the connecting stud.

The Nut is insulated from the stainless steel body by a Tufnol socket, preventing electrical transference to the insulator body or opposite terminal.

Should for an reason the Tufnol be compromised, the nut will bottom out against the stainless steel housing, while the back stay will loosen, the insulator will remain attached allowing the rig to be re-tensioned until a repair can be made. 

Can be used in an emergency to repair broken rigging, simply place between and of the compression fitting bodies and nuts to extend the length or for extra length fix 2 together. idealin emergency situationsif the rigging fails and you need to cut the broken section out.
